1. Getting Started

First things first.  In order to keep organized, with all your trip information in one place, I recommend printing out "My Disney Plan" worksheet.  This will be where you write your confirmation numbers for everything, and you'll want to bring it with you on your vacation.  So go ahead... download & print it... I'll wait for you.  :)

Great!  Now we can get started.

The first thing you need to know when planning a Walt Disney World vacation is the sheer size of the place you're going to.  It's awe-inspiring, especially if you're used to visiting your average, run-of-the-mill Six Flags type amusement parks.  Walt Disney World is not anything like that.  Just to give you an idea...
The area is over 43 square miles in size.  Yes, I said miles.  That's about twice the size of Manhattan Island.  So you are not going to be able to see everything or do everything in one trip.  But, you can do a lot of it, and still have plenty left over to see in future trips to The World!  Here's a brief rundown of what you can look forward to:

- 4 theme parks  (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom)
- 2 water parks  (Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach)
- 2 shopping districts  (Downtown Disney Marketplace and The West Side)
- 1 entertainment district with night clubs and fun for grownups  (Pleasure Island - currently under construction)
- 1 boardwalk entertainment complex  (at The Boardwalk Inn)
- 1 sports arena  (Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex)
- 1 Nascar racetrack where you can drive a real stock car!  (Richard Petty Driving Experience)
- 2 minigolf courses  (Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland)
- 5 PGA golf courses  (Magnolia, Palm, Osprey Ridge, Oak Trail and Lake Buena Vista)
- 1 Cirque du Soleil show (La Nouba at Downtown Disney West Side)
- 1 interactive video & gaming center (Disney Quest)
- 27 resorts (with more being built) that you are welcome to visit, dine & shop at

There's a lot of ground to cover!  The next few pages are going to ease you through the planning process so you create the vacation that YOU want.  So get your worksheet and a pen ready, and let's get started!
